Growing up in a Māori world with pale skin and ginger hair, Hoani knows a lot about representing a culture you don’t always look like you’re a part of. And how sometimes being outside the box ends up giving you a better view of what’s inside.

Getting older, wiser, dumber. Life comes at you fast and Hoani was the slowest runner at school.
